I had to explain this to my mom when she heard my answer:
It’s because we love dancing, and because dance is something that we love, and so we spend a great deal of our time (and money) dancing.
But for an excellent example of a social worker-driven theory, read This book:
We don’t just talk about sex but about the kind of sex we want.
Or read This book, this book, this book:
The word that comes to mind is “sexiness.”
It’s what makes people “see” us dancing, and it’s the reason we look forward to it. And as I’m sure you know, I’m not the kind of person who likes to talk about sex.
I’ll save you an hour and a half of reading time. Here’s some more information you’ll find absolutely valuable (or even necessary, depending on how you’re thinking about sexing).
How important is music to you?
What songs do I listen to most, and what songs do I enjoy the least?
How important is a relationship?
What is a “good” boyfriend?
How much does it cost to rent a room in a hotel, and how does it affect how much money I spend?
How much do you spend to rent space on the Internet in a hotel? How can your expenses look better in comparison?
How much does it cost to make a reservation for a car in a hotel room?
What do the prices for a room in hotels in cities with different temperature and humidity levels look like?
How much does it cost to rent a car seat?
I’ll leave you with this quote, from the great Dr. Helen Fisher:
“There is simply no more powerful motivator of passion, more important to women than a woman who is dancing and feels in love with her lover, and who is dancing because she is dancing. Women, dancing, love them.”
If you’re reading this and you don’t already know about this, thank you so much.
Here’s a video by Dr. Fisher on this subject, from her book Let’s talk about it.
For any newbies out there; don’t worry. It takes about 10 minutes to digest this info and get comfortable being able to talk about it with others.
