The first of two days of congressional testimony by the FBI’s John Durham was conducted Saturday, as the agency continues to provide evidence from its inquiry into the former secretary’s email investigation.
Speaking of her use of personal email to conduct state business, Clinton told Durham she was not “totally confident in the security assurances I’m being provided or in the ability of the technology to help me protect my information.”
“There will be times that it will be necessary, through no fault on my part, to rely on devices that are less secure. I understand that,” the former secretary of state said.
Clinton also denied any wrongdoing or mishandling of classified information.
In a statement in response to the testimony, Durham said that although his office “does not and will not reopen a case with regard to this investigation,” prosecutors are reviewing FBI and Justice Department reports as part of the ongoing probe into Clinton’s handling of sensitive information while serving as secretary of state. “Based on the information we have thus far, the FBI did not find clear evidence of criminal conduct by Secretary Clinton in connection to her
