I will not be held responsible, however, if you are unable to work out how to play an instrument or you have difficulties learning a foreign language. I will teach you to play a simple instrument, however with as much practice as possible. I am quite comfortable teaching students who can play the piano or violin if they want to. I like to use the word ‘learn to play an instrument’ in the title, as that shows the intention is more to teach how to play a instrument, and not the more general ‘how to get better at an instrument’. It will take me at least another month to learn to use the instrument properly and play a few lessons, so keep your expectations low (although they will be reasonable!) and remember, I’ll be giving you a chance to work in the evenings, but this won’t be to practise every day, so don’t give up hope just yet! There are some things you will do differently depending on the kind of instrument you want to learn and there are things you will do differently depending whether you are a soloist or a band leader. So take your time and choose what you want to do, and then enjoy learning!
