A New Orleans man is charged with possession of stolen property after he allegedly stole more than $25,000 from a downtown bar.

According to an arrest affidavit, Christopher “D-Boy” Leckey, 19, admitted he bought a handgun and a mask made of duct tape from Walmart.

When he was arrested Thursday and he turned himself in to police, he admitted to stealing from the Bluebird Bar and Grill on Louisiana and North Charles Streets.

Investigators say Leckey had his vehicle and belongings taken out of the building, as well as more than $5,500 in cash.

He is charged with theft over $500, two counts of grand theft auto and driving on a suspended license. He was released on his own recognizance and ordered to turn himself in Monday.
