I believe there is only one song for me: “Love Me Harder” on the Dixie Chicks album. You can actually play the song on guitar if you love that kind of thing. If you like the sound of an electric guitar, you’ll love a lot of it. As far as the lyrics, I’m very big on melody and harmony.
On the stage there is more of my personality and personality comes out on stage. I enjoy the attention and you can sometimes get overwhelmed and can lose it sometimes that way. “Love Me Harder” plays great when you get in the zone. I’m so glad that the band started doing that kind of thing because it allows for a lot less anxiety and more fun. The more relaxed the environment, the more exciting the show is.
Did you have a favorite stage to play?
I loved my time on the stage when I had to sing with The Who and Elvis Presley — the sound is so great in those kinds of rooms. I really enjoyed it when I was with Alice Cooper.
What are your thoughts on the Internet? What do you think about it and if you’re using it to your advantage?
I do not feel it’s bad now that I don’t have to read a lot of newspapers. As much as I’m used to being on the subway and using a lot of the public transit system, I do not have to turn on my phone. When I’m listening to the radio, I can’t really go to that many radio stations anymore because I have to turn my phone off. I don’t really feel like there was any bad thing about it, although there are people that are really into things — I wouldn’t say I’m a part of that world anymore. However, I’m not a total noob either. I have a few friends who do like to play music.
What kind of albums did you enjoy playing in?
You know, I really like all of the albums I did in the 80s, with the exception of those like “Highway to Hell” and “I’m Waiting for the Man.” I played a lot of rock shows and I just really enjoyed going to them! I did some “I Like It Loud” shows like in 1980 and I also played the band “Pillowtalk” at a party once or twice and played “Ride of the Valkyries” which has been my jam since I was 2.
